Dunwoody Homes For Sale | Dunwoody Real Estate
The North Atlanta city of Dunwoody is known for some of Atlanta's most desirable real estate. This Dekalb County community is scattered with swim tennis neighborhoods and provides extremely impressive access to all of Atlanta's major thoroughfares. As a rule of thumb Dunwoody homes typically start out in the low $200,000 range and can max out well over $10 million. There are very few gated communities in Dunwoody, most of the neighborhoods are small cluster communities within semi-close walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

Public school options in the area
The public education system in North Dekalb County, more specifically the city of Dunwoody area, is one of the main attributes of why Dunwoody real estate has been so resilient through the recent downturn. Home values in some of Dunwoody's top elementary schools like Vanderlyn and Austin had actually seen some appreciation in the past two years. The top Dunwoody elementary schools feed into Dunwoody high school. The newly built Dunwoody elementary school is also an extremely popular choice for homebuyers looking to move into the Dunwoody area.
Dunwoody shopping and restaurants

Not only does Dunwoody have the expansive and popular perimeter Mall area, there are also other multiple villages with more of a local community flair. The North Atlanta community of Dunwoody is also extremely accessible to some of Atlanta's top high end shopping in Buckhead like Phipps Mall and Lenox mall.
New Construction homes
Currently there are just at 20 new homes for sale in the Dunwoody area. These homes typically start around half a million and can reach well into the multi-millions. Most of the new homes being built in Dunwoody today are either infill properties, where a home was torn down to rebuild a new one or are small cluster communities built on an acre or two lot. These new communities are typically gated. Popular new home builders in the Dunwoody area include Bill Grant, John Wieland, Pulte and DR Horton.
Top local subdivisions
The city of Dunwoody was developed to create many small neighborhood communities of 50 to 100 homes. Most of these enclave communities were built in the 1970s and 80s when Dunwoody was just being initially being developed. Top subdivisions in the area include Redfield, Ashford Chase and Dunwoody Club Forest. Some of my favorite neighborhoods are the Branches, Wyntercreek and Heathwood. Swim tennis neighborhoods are extremely popular in the area. Most likely if your neighborhood is not a swim tennis neighborhood other local adjacent neighborhoods may have optional memberships without living in the neighborhood.
